Southern Fried Romance is a light-hearted romantic story of Rhett, a young troubled businessman, is dealing with a job he isn’t happy with and a recent breakup with his girlfriend. He is chosen to travel down south to close a deal with a Ernest Pickens, an eccentric business owner who is set to retire and sell his business. Jack, his boss, expresses one main rule of dealing with Ernest, don’t flinch. His travel arrangements take him to The Southern Cross, a small town ranch and airbnb where he encounters Marilyn, the owner and proprietor, and her two children Trey and Dixie. Rhett and Dixie don’t exactly hit it off as Dixie is mistrusting of anyone north of the Mason-Dixon Line. At Rhett’s meeting with Ernest he discovers that “eccentric” doesn’t quite cover it and discovers the meaning of his “don’t flinch.” After night of drinking at a local bar Rhett meets Jeff, Dixie’s on-again, off-again boyfriend Jeff, who is less than thrilled about Rhett staying at The Southern Cross. Southern Fried Romance is a sweet story that will have you laughing throughout and maybe even shedding a tear or two by the end.
